SienaAir is the unencrypted wireless SSID used across campus. Most major school systems are available from this system, but not all. It will require you to register your device through the Network Registration Portal. This should primarily be used for video game systems, FireTV, Roku, Smart TV, etc. that do not currently support encrypted connections like eduroam. Detailed registration instructions are available at https://www.siena.edu/deviceregistration.
To connect using Windows
- Open Connect to a Network by clicking the network icon ( ) in the notification area.
- In the list of available wireless networks, click a network, and then click Connect.
- Make your selection and follow the instructions. (Remember SienaAir requires network registration while eduroam requires you to authenticate with your Siena email address and password)
To connect using Macintosh OS X
- Click on the AirPort icon on the title bar (the one that looks like a slice of pie).
- If AirPort is off, turn it on.
- In the list of available wireless networks, click a network, and then click Connect.
- Make your selection and follow the instructions. (SienaAir requires network registration while eduroam requires you to authenticate with your Siena email address and password)
Once connected, you can usually connect each time without repeating the process. However, if you have problems connecting, follow these steps again. Tip: If your phone or computer connects, but only works on the siena.edu, google.com, microsoft.com or apple.com then it’s not registered and it will not have full access to the internet!
